Un taux d'analphabétisme élevé au Sénégal: Les réformes font (…)

En 1994, le taux d'analphabétisme du Sénégal était de 60,5%. Dans les régions les plus reculées, le taux d'analphabétisme atteignait plus de 80% avec une grande disparité homme/femme. Le manque d'écoles, de matériels pédagogiques et d'enseignants pénalisait l'éducation.

Aujourd'hui, les enfants bénéficient des nouveaux programmes d'éducation au Sénégal. Les réformes ont fait reculer le taux d'analphabétisme du pays à 46,4% en 2002). Le taux de scolarisation des enfants a dépassé les 75% en 2003. L'école est devenue obligatoire pour les enfants âgés de 7 à 12 ans.

Pour être encore plus efficace, l'éducation se doit de sortir des classes pour toucher la famille et le monde du travail. Les calendriers scolaires se devront d'être plus adaptés aux rythmes de travail des populations... C'est tout un espoir et une force qui se forge sur l'éducation au Sénégal.
