’Cities-Phones’ is a multimedia and photographic creation based on Qr-Code technologies for Smartphone & I-Phone. The artist calls out places, photographs of daily life scenes, and gathers testimonies of inhabitants from different places.

Back in her/his studio, the artist-photographer develops her/his precious report and shows it online. A Qr-Code label filed on the photographed places creates links between the online report and the information.

The link Places/Qr-Code/Web permits to visit commented places. It also guarantees the visibility of the artist-photographer’s artworks. Another view on visited places is suggested to the public too.

An interactive map shows the way to follow between the different places identified by Qr-Code as a treasure hunt. Technologies guarantee the functioning of the process in all Smart-Phone, I-Phone and classical internet browser systems.

[1]and are easily forgotten to leave the place to artworks.

The oddness of the trip, discovering new places, the numerous photographic artworks and their styles, push people to meet different cities and places of exhibition.

Technical information

  1. How it works for visitors :

The visitor uses instinctively manyfold applications available for smart phones. At the same place, he discovers a Qr-Code label. This label contains a web address. The visitor brings closer her/his phone and ’flash’ the label. Instantly, her/his phone shows to his owner the website. This page adapts the way the page is shown to phones. The visitor discovers the photographic artworks and reports. An interactive map allows her/him to discover new places and to go there by following the map. HTML and other systems that works guarantee a perfect display.

  1. The photographic report :

The photographer prepares her/his report as usual : she/he notices places on the map, inform her/himself on the web or take appointments. She/He does her/his photographs and reports. He now works on the photographies and creates an article and a report online. New places are indicated on the interactive map. The report is ready to be revealed to visitors. Sticky labels are installed near to the photographred places, on display panels or public furnitures as agreed and authorized.

  1. Practical things :

This label well-located represents less space than a standard panel and is easier to integrate in landscapes. Its costs is much more cheaper than classical panels or audio-guide. The label can be installed almost everywhere. For a short use during an event but also for a longer use, the exhibition can take many different ways. Today, 4 million of Smart-Phone or I-Phone are used in France. As our mobiles develop and that we change them often, the majority of the population will have those kind of phones. The reversed liaison (from internet to smartphone and the artwork) is suggested at the bottom of the page. Test it !
