Arles International Photography Festival gathers professional photographers. For us, this event has been also a way to gather some members of the photo association three years in a row.
In 2009, I proposed you to visit more humble places with my camera on the ground and a view placed against the wall.
In 2010, I exhibited, as photographic drunkennesses, leaned photographs. Did I drink too much Pastaga? Or was it the Young Talents Party that overturned me? Our hearts were turned Off this year as coolness overcame heavy punk rock retrospectives.
In 2011, we paid a tribute to the manifesto that promoted the digital use and its place on the Internet. This tenth edition, a non-academic one, was characterized by its diversification and its multiplication of styles. Arles proposed this year, thanks to the photographers and artists point of view located at the heart of our society, a aesthetic (and political) thought on the world.
This year, thanks to a very rich progamme, the event will highlight numerous talents trained by the institution, known for some of us now as the ’School of Arles’.
We will benefit this summer again from rich photographic progammes with conferences, debates, book signings, showings at the ancient theater, the Encounters village, Photo Folio Reviews for some of us.
