In progress: Portraits of our villages.

A collection of notes and testimonies accompagnied with (...)

This collection consists in placing at the public’s disposal notes and records on phenomenons and society. I collected these notes, testimonies of our lives, in order to introduce a portrait of our villages. Collected as my encounters went by, I enriched those notes with records and photographs.

This book made of notes claims nothing more than communicate the point of view of the people I’ve been lucky to meet. Notes are like the daily life of this photographer who’s in love with the Haute-Savoie and who walks through mountains and villages only accompanied by a pen and a camera.

That is why my visits went naturally to longstanding shopkeepers and inhabitants as only them, in quality of actors and witnesses, could reveal the authentic life of those villages. Sometimes, while they had a break in their hectic life, few workers or students gave me a moment and brought their own feelings. In those discreet and humble lifes, that sometimes pretended to be ordinary, I observed and discovered wisdom, intelligence and souls offering themselves to my listening.

I collected during each encounter these testimonies rigorously, seriously, and the result seems to be a modest, secret and inaccessible emotion. The links that flourished between the photographer-author and the people he met, as well as their friendship, will remain confidencial and at the spectator’s imagination.

By presenting this collection to you, one thing comes to my mind : to share my knowledge and to give a last thanks to those who, by their presence, confided a part of them to me.
